# pause and resume a worker

From the shop worktree you want to pause:

```sh
antil session suspend
```

The apps stop. Their ports and database remain reserved for this worker. Other workers keep running.

Bring that worker back:

```sh
antil session resume
```

Wait for `ready` before reopening its app. Use `antil session end` when the worker is finished; its data remains until an explicit [prune](/docs/reference/cli/#antil-prune).
