# install antil

This guide is for early-access users who already have an antil source checkout. There is no public clone-and-install path or packaged release documented for this build; get source access from the person who supplied your early-access checkout. Use that supplied revision.

You need macOS, Git, and Go 1.26.5 or newer. The five-minute shop lesson starts **after** installation and its other prerequisites are ready.

From the root of that checkout:

```sh
mkdir -p /tmp/antil-docs
CGO_ENABLED=0 go build -o /tmp/antil-docs/antil ./cmd/antil
export PATH="/tmp/antil-docs:$PATH"
antil --help
```

The help begins:

```text
Isolated-but-shared dev stacks for parallel agents
Usage:
  antil [command]
```

Keep the binary somewhere persistent if you want it to survive a system cleanup of `/tmp`. For the [shop quickstart](/docs/quickstart/), also install Node.js, Bun, and Docker Desktop or OrbStack, and start Docker. The first wave supports macOS; Linux is not a supported release target yet.
