# run the shop’s tests

Start the [shop](/docs/quickstart/) in the current worktree. Run its named test command:

```sh
antil run test --json
```

Check `status`, `operation.state`, and `data.run.exit_code`. For a successful run these are `ok`, `succeeded`, and `0`. Use the `antil logs --run …` command returned in `next_actions` to see the test report.

If the response is `waiting`, use the returned action to follow the existing request. If execution is unknown, inspect that request before deciding to retry. Do not treat a successful HTTP response from the CLI as a passing test.

To add a different test runner, change `operations.test.command` in `antil.yaml`, then end and start that worker. antil runs an argv list without an implicit shell. Keep the API address in `SHOP_API_URL` or use your runner's equivalent.

**Seals are coming.** A new test request runs the tests again; neither test caching nor CI reuse is enabled by this guide. [How seals will work](/docs/seals/).
